Banding works best using a combination of identical or contrasting textures by layering one finish upon another. Polished plaster banding can dramatically transform a space no matter what the area and can create a further sense of space.
Blockwork gives you the look and feel of real weathered stone, but without the weight or thickness of natural stone. The texture and tone can be varied from block to block, reflecting the natural variations found in stone walls.

We did this Swimming pool area with walk in shower in a white Intona plaster with white Marmorino plaster bands added giving a cool and modern look.
Intona is great for pool and shower areas due to it’s highly breathable nature, and its naturally anti mould surface.
The smooth Marmorino gives a glossy finish making a great contrast with the texture of the Intona plaster when applied in bands like this.

This shower area features lime stone light bands over lime stone Intona. The combination of the light colours and banding help give an increased sense of space and brightness.
The combination of lime based plasters was the perfect choice for this bathroom as they feature a high level of permeability and natural mildew resistance.

The Venetian Plaster Company were lucky enough to help in the refurbishment of The Northern, now called Bar Logo. Simon asked us to do some polished plaster on the bar, and after a few days, here is the end product.
Intona plaster with its pitted texture was used in the banding design in combination with Lucidato with its high glossy finish, to achieve this classy effect.
