The dash stayed on. The house still changed completely.

Our clients in Colby wanted to lose the old and dated dash and go for a more modern finish. The obvious route is to hack the dash off first and start again — which is the slow, messy, expensive way round, and it is the reason a lot of people look at a dashed house and decide to leave it as it is.

It didn't come off. We applied a thin coat render system (Ecorend) straight over the existing dash, and finished it with a coloured silicone top coat. The speckle and the cracked face of it disappeared under the new system, and the white window surrounds were left to stand out against a flat, even grey.
