Granite treads, and everything around them in white Marmorino Classico.

Our client had some very nice steps and wanted something stunning to finish them off, so we applied a white Marmorino Classico plaster. The end product is absolutely gorgeous.

The treads themselves are granite. What we finished is everything holding them up — the curved concrete spine, the risers and the returns — so the granite reads as granite and the structure carrying it reads as one clean white sweep.

Marmorino Classico is a masonry covering that can be applied on interior and exterior surfaces. It was the perfect choice for these external steps as it creates a rather thick coat offering outdoor resistance, and features a high level of permeability and natural mildew resistance.

It also follows the curve. The staircase sweeps round on a single curved spine, and the plaster runs over the whole of it without a joint or a cladding line to break the shape — something conventional stone cladding cannot do.
