Applied straight over the existing tiles.
Some before and after pictures of this stunning bathroom, finished in our beautiful crystal quartz. This has been applied straight over the existing tiles, which saves time and mess.
That last part is worth pausing on. There was nothing wrong with the tiles in the before pictures — they were simply dated, and the usual route would have meant a skip, a fortnight of dust and a room out of action. Instead the quartz went on over the top: walls, window reveals, shower and floor, all in one continuous surface. Same vanity, same bath, same sanitaryware — and what looks like an entirely different room.
Because it goes on seamlessly there is no grout anywhere: not behind the basin, not in the shower, not on the floor. Nothing to discolour, nothing to rake out and redo in a few years, and nothing for water to find a way through.
