Two conservatory roofs, both now in ThermoCork.

Great to get out today and work on these two conservatory roofs, which have now been coated in our ThermoCork. The client wanted it for its great thermal value, which will keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, and for the excellent sound proofing properties. Finished off with a smart new look.

One of them was blue polycarbonate. The other had plain white panels. Both are a light grey now, with the ribs between the panels reading darker.

The sound deadening is the part people do not expect. A polycarbonate conservatory roof in heavy rain is loud enough to stop a conversation. Once it is coated, that goes away.

Does it make the conservatory dark?

Someone asked us that, and it is a fair question — it is the first thing most people want to know. The honest answer is yes, it does darken the room. But not excessively. If anything it is more comfortable without the glare on sunny days.
