Black Marmorino, Haus Showroom
Isle of Man
2024
Marmorino literally means “little marble” in Italian: tiny marble particles are mixed with lime to create a smooth polished plaster finish. The surface is smooth and lustrous with gradual movement between light and shade owing to its visible workmanship, giving it a sense of depth and excellent light reflection. It is smooth and cold to the touch.
Marmorino can be applied on interior and exterior surfaces and is suitable for decoration of both modern and historic buildings. It has naturally mildew resistant properties and excellent waterproofing and antibacterial qualities making it very desirable for luxury bathrooms and other wet areas. The finish becomes stronger with age.
Marmorino is available in different grain varieties yielding a variety of sheens and decorative effects.

Naturally mildew resistant and waterproof, so it goes where tile usually has to.

One wall finished seamlessly, with the movement between light and shade doing the work.

Whole rooms carried in one surface, with no joints to break it up.

New commercial buildings where the finish has to hold its own against glass and steel.

The first surface a visitor sees, and one that takes daily traffic.

Smooth and cool to the touch, and it copes with the humidity.

The same finish outside — this staircase at The Arches has been out in the weather since 2010.
