Paints and applied finishes — everything that isn't plaster

These are the finishes that go onto a surface rather than being trowelled up as one: glitter paints, flake systems, foils and real metal, and the pearl and mica effects. They share a way of working — the colour is only half of it, and what the surface does with the light is the other half — but they go on in very different ways, and which one is right for a room usually comes down to how much punishment it is going to take.

Most of them go straight over what is already there. Tiles, painted walls, kitchen units, joinery: there is rarely anything to rip out.

The finishes in this family

• Crystal Quartz — a trowelled natural stone finish, seamless and very hard wearing, with the flake worked through the material.
• Crystal Brush — fine glitter in a clear glaze, brushed on. The subtlest of the sparkle finishes.
• Glitter Flake — flake sprayed over a base colour. Rough to the touch, and the boldest of them.
• Sealed Flake — Ilumitextra — the same flake idea taken under a lacquer, so it stays smooth and can be scrubbed. This is the one for kitchens, nurseries and busy public rooms.
• Metallic — gold transfer foil and real metal, laid on and worked by hand.

Pearlescent

With a metallic, pearly look, our Pearlescent finish gives surfaces a rich, opulent look of shimmering satin. Whether in homes, offices, or commercial spaces, our Pearlescent finish will give surrounding areas an air of sophistication fitting even for royalty.

It can be applied to walls and ceilings and also with stencils. Our Pearlescent finish is a quick drying, low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) advanced water-based formula made with fine mica powders giving surfaces a beautiful pearl lustre with low environmental impact.

Available in 60 beautiful colours.

Pearl Velvet

With metallic pigments and fine resins our Pearl-Velvet finish produces a shimmering suede metallic finish giving the appearance of a pearlescent paint with a soft rich texture. The soft, elegant look of velvet can be similar to metallic Venetian plaster or fabric draped walls, producing rich matted and metallic reflections.

For interior use; it is low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds). Available in white, silver, bronze, gold and red bases, with which custom colours can be created using colourants.
